CCUS & Hydrogen Decarbonisation Summit
Posted on Feb 27, 2025Andy Fraser and Nick Williams of FT Gas recently attended the Royal Armouries in Leeds for the 6th UK CCUS & Hydrogen Decarbonisation Summit. This event looked at the challenges and opportunities presented within the energy transition sector, focusing on the implementation of CCS & CCUS in industrial operations and the role of hydrogen in the decarbonisation of industry and transport.
Nick and Andy exhibited innovative carbon capture and hydrogen technologies and associated expertise, including the respected Gascat range of regulators. They enjoyed meeting existing and prospective clients and friends in an atmosphere that resonated with innovative products and strategies to meet the decarbonisation commitments the nations of the UK and beyond have set.
Two products on the FT Gas stand proved to be particularly popular with delegates/visitors. Kleerband® flange protectors elongate the life of an asset by protecting the face, studs and gaskets on raised face, full face and ring joint flanges from atmospheric corrosion encountered in gas plants, petrochemical applications, metering stations and underground pipelines. The Kleerband® design allows for visual inspection of the flange surface and thus indication of potential joint leakage without removal of the flange protector.
The Gascat Monobloc is a compact, fully integrated HP to LP station, suitable for natural gas and other gases. There is an image above that highlights the size of a traditional PRS versus the Monobloc which, weighing only 50kg, is easy to install, transport and integrate. Features include an inlet connection up to 2″ currently stub end flanged 2500# down to 150#; a filter unit; single security shut-off valve; Domus pressure regulator and a partial relief valve. Dimensions are 495h x 400w x 485d, while it operates at temperatures from -20°C to +60°C, with an inlet pressure range of 30 bar to 400 bar and an outlet pressure range of 20 mbar to 4 bar.
FT Gas has a schedule of events throughout the year including “Lunch & Learn” – the FT Gas team can make a lunchtime presentation at a company’s premises or at the FT facilities in Staffordshire. Should anyone be interested, please email enquiries@ftgascontrol.co.uk or telephone 01543 416024.
