Gas Division Supplies Twin-Stream System for Power Station
Posted on Apr 11, 2024FT Gas Control successfully beat a number of players in the gas-to-power field to secure the contract to 3D design, engineer, install and commission a Class 600 twin-stream system feeding gas engines at a peaking power station. Our solution, complete with pre-heat and fiscal metering and compliant with IGEM TD/13 gas standard, was the only full turnkey offering to the client, who plays a critical role in UK power generation. The team from FT Gas recognised there was a need for civils work, including concrete pads and barriers, on the site and delivered that too, thus ensuring a smooth customer experience.
Replacing a temporary system, the FT Gas natural gas Pressure Reducing, Metering and Heating System features a maximum design pressure of 68.9bar, hydrostatic test pressure 105 bar for Class 600, Class 150 30 bar and provides a flow rate of 11,500sm3/hr. Able to respond in a matter of minutes to demand from the grid, the FT Gas system is engineered to consistently support and deliver up to a 110MW gas load in line with the customer specifications.
FT Gas’ skid-mounted, plug-and-play modules use Gascat pressure regulators, slam shuts and safety devices, which are all CE marked. FT Gas also leads the quality management of a project by putting its gas control systems through a full PED assessment, allowing the system to carry its own CE/CA marking.
