No rest over Christmas period for dedicated FT staff

Staff in the gas division of FT Pipeline Systems worked over the 2023 Christmas period (Christmas Day and Boxing Day) at an electrical power station during a scheduled site shutdown to get a new pressure reducing system ready for the site re-opening. The work involved the installation and activation of a Gascat Horus low pressure gas regulator system, complete with silencing and GIPS slam shut and 6″ and 12″ monitors. The twin stream system gives 100% redundancy and 16,000Nm/h. The job, which is the start of a three-year project, involved upgrading a natural gas pressure reducing system in the southeast of England.

The first phase required the replacement of an intermediate PR system and Class 300 off-take upgrade.

The gas division has also recently assisted another client, a meter asset manager, with the installation of a Farm Tap regulating system along with a heatpack and fiscal metering.
